Many people tend to forget about their wrinkled feet when it comes to the fight against aging. I guess it’s understandable in as much as it’s a case of “out of sight, out of mind”. But having said that, as soon as you take off your shoes and socks, or pantyhose, there they are again, those horrible, old looking, wrinkly feet. Your feet take a lot of punishment, and unless you look after them properly, not just from an anti-aging point of view, but from a general wellbeing, and healthcare point of view, you will suffer for it. You can use a sugar scrub, and then once they’re dry, you can take your foot file and gently file off that hard, dead skin. You’ll be surprised at just how good your feet will feel afterward.
But don’t forget your moisturizer. Yes, the same one that you use for the rest of your body; after all, aren’t your feet a part of your body too? Remember that the skin on your feet is no different to the skin on the other parts of your body, therefore it will suffer from precisely the same problems and fate as that other skin will, hence the wrinkled feet.
The same body system feeds the same proteins and nourishment to the skin on your feet as it does to the skin on the rest of your body. That means that in exactly the same way that the skin on your arms and legs deteriorates because of the lack of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, so too will the skin on your feet.
Moisturizing your feet is very important. It’s best to do it at night just before you get into bed. But one of the problems is that the moisturizer might well get rubbed off by your bedclothes. So, to prevent this from happening, just slip on a pair of cotton bed socks to keep the bedclothes away from the cream. When you wake up next morning, you’re feet will feel beautifully refreshed. It’s a great way of rejuvenating the skin on your feet.
Your toenails can often be a form of embarrassment too. As you probably know, your toe nails, (and your finger nails too), are made up of dead skin. Hard to believe perhaps that is skin, but it really is. Every skin cell contains a substance known as Keratin. Keratin varies in its exact make up depending on where it is in your body.
